The Food: Pasture-raised eggs with deep yellow yolks? Or eggs measured with a ruler before they hit the grocery aisle? We'll take ours from the happy hens at Mad Hatcher Poultry, in Ephrata, WA. If you buy eggs every week, why not commit to getting them from your local farmer?
The Farm: Mad Hatcher Poultry is about a two-and-a-half drive east of Seattle. Farmer Bernie Nash's chickens enjoy a complex and diverse and nutrient-rich diet, run around outdoors, and engage in natural chicken-esque behavior (as it should be), making these eggs some of the best we've ever had.
